A draw was maybe fair enough but still disappointing given our recent performances, the effort was there but we seemed to lack that final bit in front of goal, Valencia should have come on sooner IMO.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-1FT
I thought we played well and, although a draw was probably a fair result, had we taken three points it certainly wouldn't have been undeserved.

We weren't as good as we have been recently but it's still a point away to Sunderland and its a great feeling to actually be disappointed with that. That's a massive mark of how far we've cone and the change in expectation.

There ws no way that Carroll wasn't going to start after last week and rightly so. Plus we went behind and came away with something once again. The old West Ham would have rolled over.

Would have preferred 3 points obviously but 1 will do... poster on a Sunderland forum saying that that's the best Sunderland performance he has seen this season so we should just be happy to keep the momentum up and press on with 3 points next week... barring disaster we should be in top four at Christmas.

Some people need to get a grip.

Sakho and Valencia are getting fucked about now really - they were fine together and full of confidence.

Now AC is back and Sam wants to shoehorn him in regardless.

There is only really one 'ideal partner' for the way AC plays, but unfortunately that ideal partner is only suitable for cameo appearances off the bench at best.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-1FT
I haven't been particularly impressed with Sakho and Valencia the last couple of games. It appears that we still don't know the ideal partner for Carroll either. The partnership of Valencia and Sakho worked extremely well but it looks like Sam will give the nod to AC every time, when fit.

Surely we should ALWAYS be looking - especially in light of what we know about Sam's true dna.

We are on the march - we don't want the tail wagging the dog.

What a result. 1 1 away to Sunderland, , I'm happy with that.

Re: Sunderland v West Ham - Official Match Thread 1-1FT
Shows how far we have come that draws away from home cause so much knicker wetting.....however, the fans are right to expect a maintenance and improvement on our current status. No need for standards to drop considering the current confidence, squad and potential new signings.

With the current choices in midfield and attack, We should rightly question why any player should stay on the pitch for longer than 45 mins if they are not being effective.

I really enjoyed the game. It makes such a change to always feel like we'll get back in it when we go one down. Saying that, I wish we'd stop going one down. Keeps the games exciting though as we never stop going for it.

Allardyvce is doing really well, totally surprised me. I'm not sure I agree with Lily that he's what we've been missing. I'm much more comfortable with the opinion that we're what he's been missing. A club that refused to accept his pig-headed negativity. But the man has stepped up to the mark and the idea that we should be looking for someone else is fucking insane.

We're looking very, very strong.

It's never good enough to accept the status quo.

Be the best you can be.

I reckon we owe Teddy for a sizeable chunk of this new mentality.

Looks like Lily has nicked my sherry...

We can do better than Sam. And if we want to step on, the time to be looking is now, whilst we are a desirable commodity, not when we are down the bottom in the shite.

Too many people in their little comfort zones...

Still a long way to go, but to even be within a sniff of the position we are in at the mo, with twelve days before Christmas, is fucking quality, given where we were this time last Season.

I absolutely loved our kick off to the second half. Not ONE of us saw that coming. The intent was clearly there to win in a mixed up style.

I love it.

I put it to you all, that Sam Allardyce was always the missing ingredient for us. He IS a modern manager, and he has brought us on leaps and bounds and I reckon he will make us stronger, especially the way he works with our owners.

If I were the owner, I'd have mad eit clear to him that I want him to keep up the good work of hitting every single target given him.

Bitter pill for some, a mouth full of cod liver oil, yuk, but fucking good for you.
